As a Osteopath, Naturopath and Homeopath, I believe that the body has the ability to heal itself, and thus all my treatments aim to assist the body's repair process and return the body to a normal state of functioning, whether there are structural or general health problems..

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment designed to provide pain relief for the body's structural and mechanical problems. A gentle form of treatment, osteopathy can benefit most types of aches, pains and strains in people of every age.
In the same way that you visit your dentist to reduce the chance of fillings, regular check-ups with your osteopath allow potential problems to be detected before they develop.
Many patients who have been treated for painful conditions benefit from checks every six to twelve months - a kind of 'human MOT'. If you suffer from occasional discomfort, then consider seeing us. Preventative treatment and advice is a worthwhile investment in your long-term health and comfort.

Naturopathy is a system of medicine that recognizes that the body has its own healing mechanism (‘vital force’) and that health is described as the homeostatic balance between the structural, biochemical and mental/emotional components of living beings. Dysfunction in one area invariably leads to disruption elsewhere but health is more than the absence of disease. Naturopathy aims to establish health on a cellular level by improving circulation and innervation, nutrition, detoxification and elimination. Each person is seen to respond in a unique way to outside influences, whether they are mental/emotional, structural, nutritional, social or cultural. The individual requires foods for nourishment, clean water, fresh air and sunlight, as well as appropriate exercise, rest and relaxation to maintain health. These are suitably recommended to educate the patient into a lifestyle conducive to a healthy existence. Additional modalities such as fasting, hydrotherapy, special diets, supplements and herbal remedies may also be used to promote health. Prevention is preferable to cure and acute diseases although different from chronic ones but are viewed as part of a whole health creating process. The acute response is the body’s attempt to restore health often through enhanced processes of elimination. Suppression with drugs of such healing processes may contribute to the potential for chronic illness. |

Homeopathy derived from the Greek words for similar and suffering aims to treat "like with like.". Homeopathic formulas are based on the theory if a substance will cause symptoms in a healthy person it will assist the curing of these symptoms in a sick person. Thus all homeopathic remedies are ‘proved’ by being given to healthy people to first see what effects they have, eg coffee and onions cure insomnia and hay fever. Remedies are created by being diluted with water in ever increasing amounts, even to the point where no starting material remains. This diluting together with a process of succussion or vigorous shaking, creates the remedies because as is hypothesised the water retains a "memory" of what it was once in contact with. These remedies can assist the body to cure many illnesses.
